Question about leather masks.

Hello everyone.
I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to attach feathers (as a mane) to a leather mask.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'd probably take a hackle, and sew it onto a ribbon (bind the edge) which could then be glued to the edge of the mask, or at least that's the first idea that came to mind.

Oh, thank you, I'll keep that in mind.
      What about hand sewing?

Not that there is any stress on the leather, but I would not sew/perforate the leather any more than necessary . . . I would use leather glue if you want it really permanent, or softer adhesives like rubber cement if you think you might ever want to remove the feathers (remember that they can be damaged and need replacement if worn regularly . . .

I usually glue the feathers down and then glue a thin piece of garment leather over that, extending a bit around the edges of the feathers' base to give it a good anchor. Then the feathers are sandwiched between two layers of leather and are more securely attached. I use a white glue called Leather Weld. Good luck with your project!
